Alexander Disease: When the Support Cells Fail

Summary
My project speaks about the Alexander disease which is a rare white matter disorder. The presentation provides depth about what it is, its significance in the scientific community, symptoms which occur, its pathophysiology, molecular mechanisms, neuroanatomy, diagnosis, treatments and my opinion on the future directions. My poster culminates the crucial points to give a brief understanding about the disease.

I learnt quite a lot from this program. These 2 weeks gave me a crash course on psychology and neuroscience which I never knew I needed. It taught me a lot about sensory activities, motor activities, emotions, motivation, only to name a few. This program drastically refined my research skills. I learnt to have my research in-depth and to utilise my most important points only. I learnt to make my communication concise while keeping an audience engaged through the presentation on the last day. I also learnt to take and implement feedback from my peers during the presentation.
